Red Mill

31 N Lake Street

Forest Lake

The Forest Lake Times stated that the Red Mill had been a bar since Prohibition days – does that mean it had been a speakeasy?

It was purchased by Phil and Ruby Kopp on April 1, 1968, and they were only the third owners.  In March 1963, the Kopps doubled the area of the Bar and Lounge by 30 feet, providing space for an additional 70 people.  They opened a dance floor, and set up an entertainment corner for bands.
