Hurry Down to Bleecker: 1960
Ron Johnson, from Deephaven, and Gordon Ramsey, from St. Paul, went to Hamline University and on May 19, 1960, the Minnetonka Record reported that they were on the staff of NBC in New York. Ramsey had recorded the “new hit,” a beatnik ditty called “Hurry Down to Bleecker,” arranged by Ron. This obscure tune is actually on YouTube!
